3D Print a Personalized Bottle Opener

Design a custom bottle opener and then watch a 3D printer bring it to life right before your peepers.

Category: Create, Learn

3D printing is pretty rad if we do say so ourselves. Seriously, this is a process by which 3D objects are created with a special printer that deposits layer upon layer of solid material to build up an actual object—like, one you can hold in your hand. We know, we know. It sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie, but this is the real thing. This technology is used to create everything from jewelry and footwear to automotive materials and (in your case) your own custom bottle opener, and now you can watch it happen with a design of your very own.
This experience is a two-parter. First, you'll send the host your initials (or any four letters, numbers or standard symbols you want). Doing this ahead of time makes it so that the printers will be all set to start working when you arrive for the 2-hour experience. Then, you and your fellow participants get to dine on snacks and throw back some beer and wine as you watch your custom concepts become 3D realities. Plus, in the meantime, your gracious host will teach you the general ins and outs of 3D printing and even share some of her all-time favorite designs. Power to the printers!
Did we mention that the price of admission includes your custom bottle opener, a little beer/wine and some snacks? We should have. But you're there to check out the awesome 3D printing technology so we almost forgot to point that out.

Important Stuff!

Don’t Forget
  • Be prepared: Prior to the experience, you will provide your initials (or anything up to 4 letters in total), which will be printed prior to or at the experience depending on total attendees.
  • Save more than the date: Please bring a penny coin – a key ingredient in making the perfect bottle opener.
  • Book on time: If you want your bottle opener customized, reservations for this experience must be made 48 hours in advance. That’s 2 full days…or 2,880 minutes if you really want to get specific. Kapeesh?
  • Be of age: Beer and wine will be served, but you must be 21 or older to partake. What? You don’t think we’ll card? Try us.
